    For best results, start inside before transplanting 12-18 inches apart in a sunny spot. When the plants are 6-8 inches tall, begin harvesting the outside leaves. Leaving the center leaves allows for a continual harvest.

  • Swiss Chard is a biennial. Leave plants to overwinter and flowers will appear the following summer. Once the flowers dry out, remove and dry the seed stalks for 1-2 weeks. Then remove the seeds from the stalks and store in a cool, dry location.
